With both my parents being professional musicians, music has been an inevitable part of my life ever since I was born. Me and my brothers grew up listening to a lot of classical, jazz and soul/r&b music.
Especially the band "Earth Wind and Fire" really resonated with 7 year old me, which led to my dad teaching me how to play trumpet. For the next few years I played in all kinds of school ensembles and youth orchestra's and while I thoroughly enjoyed making music, I always felt like the instrument was a bad fit for me. It wasn't until my first year of high school that I discovered the bass guitar during music class and I instantly knew this was the instrument I was searching for. My parents were immediately on board and before I knew it, I was practicing everyday on my first crappy bass. It was around this time also that me and my brothers started to discover hard rock and heavy metal, and it quickly became a big part of our identity. After graduating from high school, I decided to go roll into a conservatory for Jazz & Pop, aiming to push my bass playing to it's limits. I was there where I found an add on the bulletin board, looking for a metal bassist. This is how I ended up meeting Sven and shortly after I joined HESKEN.
